Military Academy Nominations
Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Service Academies. As your 5th District Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, each year I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review my page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Military Academy Nomination. Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies and serving our country.
In order to apply for a nomination from me to a Service Academy, please download this application by clicking here.
If possible, please return this application via email (.pdf attachment preferred) to Kevin Sulc in my Anderson office. His email address is email@example.com. If you cannot email the application then you may also fax it to my Anderson office at 765-640-5116 or mail to Congresswoman Susan Brooks, 120 East 8th Street, #101, Anderson, IN 46016.
In addition to the application, you also are required to send in the following items: 1. Three (3) letters of recommendation per instructions in the application. 2. Your High School Transcript (through 6 semesters). 3. 300 word (max) essay on why you wish to attend a service academy. 4. Your most recent photo (wallet size). Although you are not required to submit these items at the same time as the application, all of these and the application are due to my Anderson office by November 1, 2013.
We plan to interview applicants in late November or early December, 2013. You will be notified of the date, time and place.
Please note that this nomination application process is in addition to the Academy's application process. You should also apply to the Academy(s) of your choice and follow their instructions as well.
If you have any questions throughout this process, please feel free to contact Kevin at 765-640-5115.
