Connecting Careers & Classrooms
Connecting Careers & Classrooms is an event aimed at advancing our workforce. It is a workshop convened by Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks in Indiana’s 5th District that bridges the gap between industry and educators and fuels the future for our students.
The sixth event in the series will take place on April 24, 2017, in Fishers. We will focus on careers in public service including government, public safety, and public administration. Educators will have a first-hand chance to better acquaint themselves with a vast array of career opportunities possible in these fields and get a behind the scenes look at our public safety officials and their everyday work environment. There will also be an array of representatives from different employers within public service. Representatives from the FBI, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, IMPD, Fishers Fire Department, Hamilton County Commissioner's Office, Anderson City Human Resources Office, Indiana State Personnel Office, Marion County Superior Court, and many more will be a part of our panels and discussion.
Connecting Careers & Classrooms is open to all middle- and high-school educators (counselors, administrators or teachers) in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District. For more information about this event, please call the Carmel office at 317-848-0201. Previous Connecting Careers and Classrooms events have focused on careers in financial services, agribusiness, technology, life sciences, and healthcare, and have been attended by more than 300 local educators and school administrators.
