News Releases

Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-IN) and Dr. Jeff Sperring, President and CEO of the nationally recognized Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, will highlight the Kids First Research Act today during a tour of the hospital and media availability. They will be joined by 5th District families representing the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

The Kids First Research Act provides additional funding for potentially groundbreaking scientific research of pediatric diseases and disorders such as autism and fragile X syndrome. It does so by ending taxpayer funding of Presidential campaigns and political conventions. The Congresswoman is a cosponsor of this bipartisan bill which will generate approximately $130 million for research conducted through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Common Fund.
