WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-IN05) voted in favor of H.R. 3762, the Restoring American’s Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, which paves the way for patient-centered health care solutions and repeals as much of Obamacare as possible through the budget reconciliation process. This legislation passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 240 - 181. Brooks released the following statement after the vote:

“Hoosiers have seen time and again that Obamacare is broken. Premiums have gone up, and I continue to hear from people in Indiana about difficulties finding and keeping the healthcare providers and coverage that work best for them and their families. Due to the 30 hour rule under Obamacare, Hoosier workers have seen their hours cut and have had money taken from their pockets.”

“I’m proud to join my colleagues in the House and Senate in supporting the repeal of the individual and employer mandates, the medical device tax, and the ‘Cadillac’ tax on health plans. Not only does this legislation defund and eliminate Obamacare, but it reduces the deficit, enhances Medicare solvency for our seniors, ends taxpayer funding to abortion providers, and provides grants to states, like Indiana, to help respond to the national substance abuse epidemic and meet mental health needs.”
